I believe we dont have to know about photoshopping. It doesnt really affect my life and how im doing. I dont mind that they make women slightly more beautiful. Manipulating the photos actually lets you know that these women have flaws. And they are still beautiful without the photoshopping. No matter what woman have to work to be beautiful.

I think that photo manipulation should be use when only they tell you when they do it. If so one wants to be jsut like a picture that was edited then it would be hard to look just like that picture. They edit like all the photos that go into Magazines and they disort the photo so it looks nothing like what the picture is suppose to. My sister does this for a living. They make lots of money for doing this and thats why the do it and thats why they don't tell anyone. They just want our money! What I think about photo shoping is that you should do it only sometimes. I think that you should do it sometimes because it depends on what your doing it for. Like if your doing it for a funny picture then why not. If your doin it to change the way someone looks I dont think it's right. You never know what other people are thinking when they look at a picture of someone who looks skinny and is not really like that I dint think someone can get to be like that. So if someone trys to do that and look like someone on a magazine they could get hurt. Another reason I think you should photo shop only if they are trying to make like a funny joke but dont do it to make somebody look like something there not.

Photoshop is only ok when you are puting text and cropping pictures. But it is not ok to use other bodies of people and stick other peoples head on them. And if they were to do that to someones picture they should inform the buyers and people that they have photoshopped the picture so people wont think that it was the orignal picture. Also if you are naturally beauty you shouldnt need nor have them to photoshop your pics. But it is only sometimes ok only if the person really needs to be photoshopped but i dont think that nobody should need that much work. SO this is how i feel about the whole photo manipulation thing.

I think that editing pictures is not good. For example if you wanted some one to buy a product. Dont u think they would like to see a person that looks more like them so they can think they are nornal. Also when people edit pictures it really is not even the same picture when they are done. Like when we saw the edited pictures in class i liked the pictures that were not fixed. I thought that the ones that were original looked better. Also if some one see's a skinny person on a adverdisment it will make others feal like they need to look like them. But the people in the adverdisment really dont eveen look like that.

I think u should ask the the person to make changes to there to there face before you do it because you can make that perticular person upset or angry for what you did, or u can make that person happy because of there new look. I feel it is wrong for the media to photoshop a photo. If they are goin to do this they should at least tell the public. The public feels like if they don't look like this certain person that they are ugly or don't meet the standers of pretty. When they photoshop a picture the person who took the picture dosen't look like them selves after all of the work is done. The media just to make a movie sell tickets they will put the head of a famous actor on another pearsons body. In order to sell magazines the media will put two pictures and put them togther. I don't want to pick up a magazine when someone I look up to like Kimora Lee Simmons is on the cover with their body photoshopped because people think they're not skinny enough, or pretty enough. I believe this because if you did a interview then they look at your picture you would be embarrest because you took all those great pictures for nothing. I don't agree with photo shopping because, you can do just about anything with it. You can take any photos and forge it with any other photo. Such as making a fake nude photo of someone. You can even make a person look better than they really are. Like models, you can get someone that doesn't look good, and make them look beautiful. It makes other girls, and sometimes guys, want to be just like that photo shopped image. It hurts a lot of people, for no reason, it's just a fake image that people try to be like. Even some people try so hard and just end up hurting, or even killing themselves or others. People even buy products that a photo shopped image is wearing, just to make themselves look pretty/handsome. They see the image and expect to look like the "model," (who isn't real). People don't realize the image was fake the whole time, and they end up hurting themselves or others in the process of trying to look "perfect." I think digital editing on someone photos is not the best idea to do but it also helps. When Celebrities and Models go for pictures they should have natural beauty maybe even some light adjustment but no changing there whole body. If they go for another interview with other business and they see they don't really look like the picture does then the Company might not like them. Everyone is beautiful in their own way and they should respect that by keeping the original image. Some people could be offended by it and think their picture was changed because they're ugly. The only time i think we need to photoshop a picture is if the person who is in the picture says it's ok but if it's something that has to do with history that is not something to be photoshop. I think that because if something that happened in history that is a big thing and people take pictures of that certain thing that happened and they photoshop that then it would be telling people the wrong thing and you wouldn't want that. Another thing that is a problem with photoshoping is that teenage girls or boys looking at photoshoped pictures sometimes think that they want to look exactly like that but it's not possible. I don’t think that photo manipulation is right anytime. If you have a magazine with a picture of a beautiful person and they have been photoshoped and then a young girl sees it she’s going to wonder why she doesn’t look that way. The girl will think that she’s not beautiful and be self conscious and can end up depressed and might do something bad to herself because of it. In a magazine people may say well they are just trying to get money well the other side of that argument is the fact that some poor sucker just got tricked into buying this product that might not even work just because it’s a manipulated picture. If you have a picture of say a politician doing something wrong because you manipulated it that could really hurt there campaign and their career. In nature if you manipulate a picture people could say wow what a place and blow tons of money to go to that awesome place while it just happened that the attraction they wanted to see doesn’t actually exist. People have the idea that anything that they see is true and since a lot of people are visual they might only look at the picture not the words so printing an explanation doesn’t make sense. Magazines shouldn’t do it, books shouldn’t do it, so why should every one else be allowed to do it. It can bring about so many problems that it doesn’t make sense for us to do it at all. Take a nice picture print it and don’t mess with it.

I think that photo munipulation is ok up to a certain point. For information or where people are looking at to learn things I say no. But for advirtisements I have to say that it's ok. Because for information such as newspapers or something else they want the real truth otherwise people might get the wrong impression. But another reason it's wrong from newspapers is because people rely on that for the truth about what goes on. The reason I think it's ok for advirtisements is because they are trying to make money. Another reason is they are not looking at the ad for info but only so that people may buy there product. But also only if the person whos photo it is doesn't mind being photoshopped. So I think that photoshopping is okay up to a certain extent.

I believe that it is okay to edit photos. I feel this way because if they want there product to sell they have to have some kind of 'eye candy' to make people want o buy it. No one wants to see somebody as they really are, or someone like them espcially celebrities people enjoy this illusion of them being perfect. For some if this illusion is killed they have no one to look to as there idol of beauty. But for others they would rather have them as they are, simply because it maybe makes them feel better about how they look. But it is okay that people know that what there looking at is not real. I think that the person that is getting photo shopped should have the choice to do it or not. My thinking is that why would you want to change the way you look like you should be happy. I think that all these pictures and billboards and magazines are making people fell more insecure. That’s not a good thing to do.

Someone can get false information, or think something tha is not even true. If there is a picture of a woman in a magizen she probably doesnt look like that she has been transfomed to something similar but not that same person. Beuty they portray is not even real bueaty. I think that Photo maniplution is wrong in some cases, but not in others. Like in the case of when National Geographic moved the piramids closer together to fit them on the cover, I feel that there is nothing wrong with that. There is the case of when the BBC made an April Fools joke about a spageti bush, that was a harmless prank and I thought was funny. However, when a newspaper made the people running from the wave look like they were right in front of it, it made simpathy grow and made the disaster look worse that it really is, makeing it more dramatic just to make money. There is also the case when a newspaper make more smoke than there really was in a fight, making people more likly to support a war that is not nearly as volient as the photographs might suggest. I think that photograph manipulation for ads where they take models and make them look 'better' should not be as drastic a change as it is now, they should not make them look so much better that they look perfect. In conclusion, using photoshop is right in some cases, but not in others, like war photographs.

I think that photo manipulation is only okay sometimes. I think in an instance like with the National Geographic manipulation. It didn't really matter that they moved the pyramids closer together. In an instance where photoshop is used to change an image of a person, it would be wrong. It is wrong because they do not really look like that. It is also wrong when photoshopped pictures are used in an advertisement or magazine. When the April Fools joke was used by the BBC, there was nothing wrong with that. It was only a prank of something that couldn't possibly happen. It is also wrong if a fake picture of a disaster is used. I feel that photo manipulation is not alright anytime for anything. The companies try to change real life to sell their products (lots of makeup companies and magazines). It is a very big lie, and a very big problem since many people believe what they see. If seeing is believing, are we believing falsehoods? People try to mold how they look or what they do to become what they think is right. In the cases of magazines where there are women on the cover or in there people think, "I can look like this if I buy this product!" That is not true since no one really looks like that because they've photoshopped them so much you can't tell if its the real person or not if there was a comparison. If I were photoshopped I would be insulted that I was not "perfect" enough to be on their cover without being changed. Why would anyone want themselves photoshopped? In conclusion, photoshop is and always will be a big lie to sell more products, or make more people believe an opinion.
Photograph Manipulation is a marketing tool, like any other tool. I think it's immoral to just about everyone, but once a marketing tool is in effect, stopping it is difficult.
For example: Kids run to lunch, right? Right. Well, if no one ran, then no one would have to run in order to get a sufficient place in line. But all it takes it one person to start running, and the rest follow.
Using it in news is another story. I believe that is a more extreme form of media manipulation, and it is sharing false world information to people who expect the truth. Yes, advertisements with heavy editing are also sharing false information, but those do not directly say "You will look like this". Furthermore, they are not often expected to do so, and are accepted as dramatizations. However, I think that both are immoral, but using it in news is much more of a problem in my opinion.

I think that it is dumb to use it becasue it affects a lot of people in different ways. They try to make you thnk that you can be like that by making you buy there products. I believe that photo manipulation is wrong in some uses and correct in others. For example, in real live news, photos should not be manipulated. This is because people may actually believe it to be true and it isn't right to mislead people. I believe that for harmless jokes, it isn't very wrong to mislead people like that. I also don't mind if people use it personally because they can do what they want with their photos because maybe it is their dream to look like that. I think that using photoshop for advertising is wrong, because as we saw in class yesterday an elephant obviously cannot stand atop a smart car, but people shouldn't try. I think that using photoshopping for causes and organizations is questionable. It is very useful because it gets the point across. The photo may not be possible, but photos are attention grabbers and should be eye catching. The other point is that i think if it is used for a news article, maybe so that the entire view is captured and the unimportant parts are cut out, it should at least be specified.

I do however believe that there is a certain extent to photo manipulation. I think that if the picture that's being manipulated is going to cause a really big issue, like globe curuption then I think it's time for someone to stop and think of what there behavior and acts well cause to others. Like if someone is just making an advertisment not look better but make changes that the people that are creating things it well help sale more of there goods easier and faster and to make a better profit. But if there just making up like Globe Issue lie's then that when I think it's time for someone to put there foot down and say something.

I believe that photograph manipulation is wrong. Any photograph manipulation in my opinion is wrong because it is dishonest. Photograph Manipulation is wrong because they're being dishonest to sell a product, or to think things are different then they appear. I believe that photo manipulation is ok under a few circumstances. I think its ok to photoshop for models and other products because thats a way to make things look better and to get more buisness. I think that photo manipulation can be wrong. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone, I think it is okay. If an ad does use photo manipipulation, it should be noted somewhere on the ad. It would be better if advertisements used real pictures, but it helps companies sell their product. If I were selling a make up line, I feel like I'd want the right to photo shop my model's blemishes or make her cheeks a little rosier. Although, the model still needs to look like herself, and shouldn't be over done. It can help the veiwer's self-esteem. Nobody can ever be perfect. It’s ok for me because it’s not hurting anybody unless you are getting a low self-esteem from looking at photographs of beautiful women that it is impossible to be like. I wouldn’t say it’s ok to manipulate pictures that would start a controversial issue and start problems. Or if news reporters use the pictures to get someone in trouble or again starts a debate or issue. Manipulating a celebrities photo will make people depressed and buy all of the products that they will try to make themselves beautiful.

I thik photo manipuilation is a reasonable thing at times, but not all of the time. One reason I think its bad is becasue most people buy magazines based on its cover and that's not right to trick people out of money and the story and the image is fake. It's different if people are doing to make art work look better but to lie about it is just not right. I feel like if they tell you that they change photo's,add more, or change the image totally, we as readers should be notified. I do think that it helps make some pictures look better and more presentable. When photographers or people that use photoshop change things around to make a funny picture I think thats cool. Even when they take like five different pictures to make five people look close together, thats cool too. Some people take one look at a photo and think to themselves; I want to look like that person and can’t do it because the photo was manipulated. Companies have the right to do what they gonna have to do to make money. People can fix their picture if they want too. I don’t think fixing your picture hurts other people at all. How can someone tell want to do with your own picture. That’s not right telling someone what to do with his/she picture. There’s nothing wrong fixing pictures its just making it look better. Companies are not put pictures that don’t look right and expect to make money like that. All in all photoshoping should not be illegal.

I think that photo manipulation is bad all the time. It helps the company sell their product, but in the process it can make people feel bad about themselves. It can also mislead people about a product. If you can change a picture of a product into pretty much anything, how are we supposed to know what it really is. With all of the photoshopping technology we have today, it becomes dangerous to believe in things we see. If a company actually takes a picture of their product or what it does and does nothing to it, we can still look at it and say "That's probably just photoshopped!" and now that company is losing sales because of all the other companies lies. Photo manipulating will always be a danger now and forever, we just have to know how to deal with it.

I think it is wrong. the reason i think it is wrong is because of all the things that they do. 1 make people feal infaerer. 2nd it is just mean. 3rd and last they make that person feel bad. cause they think they should look like that. Also it is makeing people feel like they have too look like that. so im saying no . at photo missups.

I think that photo manipulation is wrong. I think they should tell people when a picture is photoshopped. I think this because when you photoshop a picture then someone trys to live up to the picture. How can comeone live up to something thats not real? Photoshopping causes a lot of problems for kids who try to live up to those images. So i think that the people who take the photo's should always tell you if they're photo shopped or not. I dont think its completely wrong. But i do believe you should be told if it is. So thats what i think on photoshopping.

I think it is okay to photoshop a picture some of the time. If the picture is for an advertisement than they can do it but should tell us. If it is just a picture to put on Facebook, ect. then I don't see a point in doing it. People weren't made to be perfect and everyone knows that. If any magazine or newspaper photoshops a picture I think they should be fined by law. People believe what they see in newspapers, ect. so they shouldn't show anything fake. I personally have no idea how to photoshop and don't care about learning how. Fake is fake no matter how you look at it. Photoshopping to me is a pointless program that companys use to deceive you and try to get you to buy their products. If any company wants to photoshop anything than they should be made to inform us about it first.

I believe that it is okay for altering a photo.Sometimes in situations you should know what happen and how it happened.A case being if the president was shot and someone took a picture of what happen and how it happened you would want detail for detail about it.But in a less serioues moment you wouldn't be concerned.Case being if a photographer takes a picture of a female model and alters the photo you wouldn't care. the same also for a male model.Every person has a flaw so photographers try to make them perfect.I think people know going into that business what they can expect once they take their picture.Also how it will be changed and altered
