I think photoshopping is good only some of the time because it can be used to make things look better than what they really are. But also it can be used to make up rumors about people. For example, if you were to have a picture of Obama on your computer, you could put it on Adobe photoshop and put a cigarette in his mouth to make it look like he was actually smoking. a good thing is that you could have a picture of someone and make their features more attractive. I say some of the time because it isn't always a bad thing but it isn't always a good thing either.

I believe that photo manipulation should not be allowed. Well when you Photoshop you can change the content of the photo. Like if you were to have a picture of a Ku Klux Klan and you were to put an African American in it the people would no longer think that it’s the KKK. Also when you start to Photoshop a lot of people start questioning and forget the whole meaning of the photo. Like if you have a photo of a woman on the porch reading to a kid people would start to question an unimportant detail of the photo. Once you get a real picture, people won’t think that it’s real because so many pictures get Photoshopped. Photoshopping can even give people the wrong idea of the main content. If you have Barack Obama in a room and you add beer bottles and empty chip bags to the photo, people would not take him serious at all. Even if you think that you are fixing a photo, the photographer would have done so. So with that being said… DON’T PHOTOSHOP!!!

I believe that photo shopping is right and a wrong thing to do. Photo shopping is used for many different reasons such as entertainment. I feel that photo shopping is okay some of the time. For example, when you want to use it for entertainment item such as a CD cover or a DVD cover. I feel that it’s ok because it’s not making us listen to the music or watch the movie any differently. When they use photo shopping in a magazine for beauty ads to political uses I feel that it is wrong because that’s lying to the public. Only under certain circumstances they should. So, when they do, they should at least put that they did photo shop the image. Although I feel that an original non- photo shopped picture is better, I’m not against it. Photo shopping can be wrong in many different ways. As in making somebody even thinner when they already are. In conclusion, I am for and against photo shopping.

I believe that Photoshop shouldn’t be used at all because it deceives the mind of everyone. Every single person in this world has a unique look to them, so why would the person in the photo want somebody to change the way they look? Maybe because they’re not satisfied with there look, but if you’re not then put make-up on or anything else that’s makes yourself look better before the photo. For me, when somebody is photo shopped it’s a sign of low self respect for yourself because you have to change the way you look just so people can like you, it’s a downgrade to your self of steam. Most people ask for others to like them for who they really are, but when you photoshop, we don’t know you, we just see you…the fake you. All in all, photoshop is a deceiving tragedy that tricks the mind of everyone.

I believe that photoshopping is intolerable and the people that do it are ignorant and shouldn't be used. A person’s imperfection shouldn’t be used for money unless they agree
They agree to it. Photoshopping hurts the way people look at things these days.
It hurts political people to. If there is a election and candidate 1 is trying to beat
Candidate 2 and a photographer take a picture of candidate 1 and the photographer
Photoshops candidate1 snorting crack he would definitely lose the election.
There is always some type of photoshoping in a picture. It is still wrong if the photographer tells us that he did use photoshoping so I hope I made my point
Thank you.

I believe you should only Photoshop pictures when need.
Photoshoping pictures without permission is not good.
Neither is changing stuff. If you Photoshop someone’s picture u should ask permission first. Reasons why I don’t agree with photoshoping is because people Photoshop other people pictures without asking, they sometimes make the picture look better but the person still can be mad because they didn’t want it changed.
Sometimes they may. Photoshop you with another person that you are suppose to be battling and the people who see it might think the picture is real and they will ask you about it if you didn’t know.

I believe congress should ban photo shopping form magazines and news papers. The number one reason I feel this way is because we search through magazines and newspapers to find the truth. Knowing they are using fake pictures how you can be sure that they’re facts aren’t fake as well. For example they photo shopped a picture of the president to make it seem he was depressed. In reality he wasn’t depressed all, they’re facts were obviously wrong then. Another reason photo shopping should be baned is; there is no reason having to change a picture. For the simple fact that if you have to change a picture, why take it at all. For example, the picture of the soldier in Iraq,
The didn’t have to photo shop that. There were many other ways to get the message. I guess what I’m trying to say is instead of photo shopping we could just say what we mean by using our words.

I believe Photoshoping is only good for only from permission. Because people that don’t like to be photoshoped could get stressed out over it. Photo manipulation for entertainment is different, people that like comedy could make people laugh a lot some people don’t like to get laugh at. Someone could be bipolar and murder someone for laughing a them. Or they can feel insecure and fell less confident about them selves. Just leave pictures alone unless someone give you permission to do it. Photo manipulation is not a crime until you do it to someone for personal reasons bad ones. Just think before you act and try not to hurt anybody.

I believe in Photo Manipulation (photo shopping) some of the time. I think photo shopping is entertainment to people because it catches people’s eyes. Sometimes things do need to be photo shopped because something may not be appealing. One example may be that a person could have acne, and so they photo shop it. Another example, would be photo shopping can be used some of the time because it can make people feel better about their selves. Here some examples of photo shopping that should not be used the other half of the time. One example can be that if a person is already beautiful you should photo shop them to look even better. It’s like what’s the point? They are already beautiful. Or already skinny enough. When people photo shop other people that are already pretty and skinny they make that person look unnatural, and not human. So I think photo shopping should be banned, because people should look natural and not be ashamed of what they look like. But, people should only use it some of the time, to show the real you!

Anonymous said...

I believe that photo manipulation is wrong because you’re basically lying. People want the truth within documents. Such as for safety, loved ones, and for celebrities. A lot of people do not like being lied to. Also a lot of photographers like the photos as is. So when their photos are changed they get infuriated. Like with the 9/11 bush reading a story to the children and his book is upside down making him look like an idiot. People photo shop for like hoaxes. For instance people use photo shopping to make flying saucers look real when some of the time they are fake.

I believe that Photoshop is not ok to use.

One reason is that it can make other people angry. An example is making people look different or erase certain people from a photographers’ picture, like in the photo of Beyonce when they made her skin lighter.

A second reason is that it lies about what could be going on or where somebody is in the picture. One example is in the video we watched when they took the picture of the friends and put it in a Scotland background. Another example is when they took a picture of two different ice skaters and put them in the same photo, making it look like they were practicing together when they never ice skated with each other.

A final reason is that it can make other people upset. A good example is in our cyberbullling unit they put a girls head and put it on an inappropriate picture.

In conclusion I believe that congress should pass a law to ban Photoshop, because manipulating photos is a always a bad idea even if it is for the smallest reasons.

I believe that pictures can only be photo shop when there is a disclaimer saying that this picture has been manipulation. One reason is when you change a picture the person who took the picture can be hurt and or mad because its that person work he or she put the time into taking a picture then you took that picture change it and put you name on it that’s not right. another reason is who is seeing that picture can have a lot of pressure on them. I mean like a girl is going to want to look like a model on the cover of a magazine and they are going to buy make up ect and spend all this money on looking like some one and then they are going to be sad when she doesn’t and then what. I think people should just tell the truth and just say that a picture has been change most people don’t even read words in a magazine they just look at the pictures so it won’t hurt the company by telling the truth. Nobody is perfect no one is so why try and make one and say she is real. Even models don’t look great all the time they all look ugly at one time so don’t put images in people faces saying people is perfect just tell the truth

I believe that it is wrong to Photo Shop because you’re telling a lie, or trying to manipulate the truth. I just might think that because people that lie are the people I stay away from. Lying to people and people that lie to me is my number one pet peeve. If you want to change the way you’re lips look then just put on a different shade of lipstick. If you don’t like the color of you’re hair then you can just get it colored. Even if that is hiding the truth it’s better then looking at a fake picture that people might look up to. When you change an image of nature at least make it realistic, I do still think it’s wrong when people change a moment in time but it makes what we look at different. It bugs me to see in my eyes most lies. I know I can’t as one stop people from making things different, but I can be one to NOT do it. Sometimes bad or good, but to me I will think it’s wrong to change the way you look, or a moment in time.

I believe that it is not okay to photo shop pictures. It maybe okay if that person gives you permission, but doing it on your own is not right. Photo shopping your pictures is wrong because when doing that you make the person look like something their not, having people believe that’s how they actually look in real life. Also its wrong when you don’t ask that person if its okay to do so. They want people too see the “real” them. I think the only time its right to photo shop anyone’s picture is when you have permission, and its meant as a funny joke, that they know about. Other than that, no its not right to photo shop someone else’s picture. Photoshop should only be used when given permission, and really needed in a picture. Don’t make people look like something their really not.

I believe that photo manipulation is wrong fir the following reasons. First of all is that your not telling the truth to the public. Another reason why someone shouldn’t use photoshop is because you are setting a new standard on what people should look like and they want to look like that but it is impossible most of the time. Another reason why photoshop is wrong is when you take someone out or put someone in the photo it can change the photo’s meaning in a good or most times bad ways. For example when president Obama was at the gulf looking down at the water the phototsop people took a lady out of the picture the president was talking to make it seem like he was looking at the water ashamed at what happened. Another reason is that the trust of the people looking at the photo’s could be lost because how many pictures are being manipulated by photoshop. Another reason is that someone could photoshop and picture to make someone look bad when they are really not. Another reason is because if you photoshop a situation in about something good and you put something bad in the backround. For example if you take a picture of kids playing and you photoshop someone getting robbed in the bakround that ruins the photo. So all and all if you photoshop you can confuse or hurt a lot of people , so don’t do it.

I believe only some of the time is it okay, is photo shopping okay to do. I believe this because when and if you photo shop a picture it is not the real person place or thing. Only is it some of the time okay is when a person has a blemish, or a noticeable stain on their clothes. They might actually WANT that to be photo shopped/ cropped out, because those kinds of things make a person look bad. Another reason is that if you’re going to pick and choose cirten people and cirten objects, which are supposed to be perfect you photo shop the picture to make it up to you’re expectations. So why did you pick the scene you picked if you’re just going to edit it. Honestly, from another point of view, I would say it was okay, IF you had the person’s permission. Also it would have something on the picture to say that it was photo shopped. So, if we were to put this position on a graph you would see ‘Photo shopping is not okay’ would win that graph over. So all in all I would vote that photo shopping is not most defiantly not okay, most of the time. With the exception of personal doubts.

I believe that its not okay to photo shop at all because of how much photo shopping was done in the past. When a photo that shows up in a magazine of celebrity that was doing something somewhere, or doing something “wrong”. How could you believe it?
Another reason photo shopping is wrong because when ads and commercials advertise there product on TV or magazines for example make-up. It looks great on the model, and they make the models skin color look perfect with their product on. In reality the models don’t look perfect and that product doesn’t make them look perfect and amazing, it’s the photo shopping! The costumer might think that the product could really do that to your skin when it really doesn’t. Its trickery! Also if the costumer buy it and it doesn’t work, they are going to be very disappointed. Photo shopping is not okay for entertainment either because if a journalist took a photo and made it into a joke that was supposed to be funny, the person that the photo is of might think different and be very angry or embarrassed; they might even want to sue the journalist.

I believe that photo manipulation is ok only when there is a disclaimer because if you want someone to photo shop you its ok but if your photo of you and you wont them to post a photo of you and its photo shop its ok. I believe that photo manipulation three reason I think its not ok because if you don’t wont them to post something of you they shouldn’t photo shop your picture because its your body of your and they changing stuff about you and putting stuff you don’t do or you don’t like to do or u not that skin color of how u look right now but out of what I know I think that photo manipulation is ok because I think it make some people look better of how they look or it make people look nicer but they make people now how nice they be looking.

I believe it is sometimes alright because. If you get permission from the person your Photoshoping there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you have no permission and you
Photoshop them they would probably take it as an insult.
Sometimes people don’t need permission and they would like it because it made them
Look better. Some people would probably think that you were saying their ugly or they need help hey look. Others might think of it as you helping them out.
But sometimes people no they need work so it wont effect them I think it is wrong to Photoshop buildings because some people might more excited to go there from something they saw in a book or magazine but when they get there and be upset I no I would be. But if you no that it really doesn’t look like that then photoshoper got lucky.
Those are some reasons why I think Photoshoping is sometimes ok.

I believe that it is wrong when there’s a disclaimer because you’re showing real life stories on a photo then you go and change the photo around. For example when dealing with a murder scene, why go and change the photo? Things like that can hurt people. You should never go and change a photo period. If you have permission from the person who took the photo or you actually think to yourself will changing this photo hurt a lot of people, and if your answer comes up no then your can change it. Will people make complaints about the work I’m doing? Just think to yourself, will they? People who take photos should have the right to have their photos the way they took them, unless it’s really need of a change. Some people don’t think before they do things and you really should. When dealing with these types of situations you need to be careful because you never know who you could be hurting.

I believe that you should be able to use photo shop. Because it makes people money and it is others jobs. And if we couldn’t use photo shop then the models pictures would not look as good. Then if there pictures don’t look good people wont buy their products. Then people wont get what they want and know one will be happy. Why should some one look old when they can look young and hot.

I believe that Photoshop should be banned because it takes away of the person real beauty. Second reason why Photoshop should be banned is it makes the person look unreal plastic and the worst part is that the celebrity are ok with it all of the time .Also the people at Photoshop make people feel insure cure because everybody does not have the perfect white eyes or the nice or the pearly white teeth, so it really might make the people feel bad of the way that they look. In my eyes Photoshop should be banned because it takes away the person really looks, it looks like you are changing how they really look on the outside. Just think about this what if you just had a new baby boy or girl and you went to go get there photos taken and when you get them back you realize that they are Photoshoped your baby is already cute why does it need to be Photoshoped so in my eyes Photoshop should be banned.

I believe Photoshop is good for some times. The good reasons why Photoshop could be used. When people are trying to make a cover of a movie so people will be interested in the movie. Reason why Photoshop is good so if you have an old copy of the declaration of independence, they can make it betters a clear for you to read it. Reason why I would get rid of it. If you have a face book a person can try to steal your identity and make a page about you. Another reason why it is bad because when people edit pictures of a person on a magazine it will make people think they are not perfect enough and become depressed. So it’s bad when people sale a product and make it seem like its working on the person but it’s actually the Photoshop they used.

I believe that photo manipulation is wrong its not okay to use. On Photoshop one reason that you should not use Photoshop is because some people want the truth the real story not the fake thing. When people Photoshop for example say you where a by stander or even walking by some that gets into a fight someone takes a picture of it and your in it and they Photoshop the picture and make you the person that person can make you look like the person that it fighting the person and then every one is going to think that you are hitting that kid. If you use Photoshop for a good reason than that would be no problem. If you try to make you picture look better. Then that would be a better reason to use Photoshop but make sure that you ask that person to use there photo in your picture because some people don’t know that your going to do with that picture. Some people say if you take the picture the first time than it better like that. One more thing that Photoshop is bad to use is when you cut off someone body and put the head one some on the body.

I believe that photo manipulation shouldn’t be used at all. Because for example, in the President Obama picture they photo shopped it and put a cigarette next to his mouth to make it look like he was smoking. In another picture, they cropped somebody out of the picture to make it look like President Obama was looking out at the oil spill. But, he was really talking to somebody about something. Also, if somebody was doing something bad and they were caught in the picture and you were in it somebody could manipulate the picture to make it look like you were doing something bad. It is not right to manipulate a picture because it could make a person look like they were doing something they weren’t doing. If there was nothing wrong with somebody’s picture someone could manipulate the picture to change stuff about that person’s picture and that would make that person upset and also, the person who took the picture of the person. It is not right to manipulate a picture.

I believe... photo manipulation should only be used for entertainment proposes only not advertising because for advertising they make you think their products make you look like that when the photo is really photo shopped and also the person that getting their picture taken get mad because their fake and not showing the real deal if I would think photo shopping was good in advertising would only change minor features like eye color. Or lighter or darker skin and bumps or wrinkles on the face.

I believe that photo manipulation can be done, but they have to state it was manipulated. Also to show the original picture. I say this because if you manipulate a photo, it is fake and could be hurtful to somebody. Also if the photographer doesn’t want his picture manipulated he has a right to that. Only manipulate photo’s to get your reason out. Don’t manipulate the picture to much. Manipulate pictures for entertainment like video games, movies cartoons and stuff like that. Also it would be okay if the photographer says it is alright to Photoshop his photo. When you manipulate a photo it can lower some ones self-esteem. It can also be a law suit if you don’t have their permission.

I believe that pictures shouldn’t get photo shopped because you want the newspaper and magazines to put out the t6ruth about things. Some people get very angry when their picture is photo shopped because it makes them feel like they aren’t good enough for the newspaper or magazine. I know if anyone would do that to my picture I would be very upset. So I would for this law and I hope everyone will go for it so photos can stop being manipulated and is not the truth. Many pictures get photo shopped for a purpose bad and some times good. Photo shop makes people believe the people in a magazine. The truth is that no one is perfect no one can look that way even if they had surgery. Photo shop is lies not true something needs to be done. So this law will help put it to an end photo shop will be over and they press and magazines, newspapers, etc will not put out lies anymore.

I believe that Photo Manipulation shouldn’t be used in any magazine or newspaper anything that has pictures. Why would you take a picture in the first place if all your going to do is change how it looks later? Before you change anything in the picture ask yourself would you want someone to do that to your picture. What is the purpose of Photo Shop if a picture is already worth one thousand words why add question to the picture. When you use Photo Shop maybe that person already thinks there hot then u should not change it. Using Photoshop to change a persons image is telling other females that they need to change they image because they not pretty. What’s the reason for making the model look thinner if they was already perfect. I’m against Photo manipulation because the photo editor is making the person who took the picture look better without even asking permission which causes the actors or advertisers to sue them.

I believe that photo manipulation should be banned. The reason I believe this is because the manipulation of photographs is misleading and deceitful. The public should have the right to truthful information, which is not possibly through corrupted images. With photo manipulation it is easy to alter events, which therefore misinform the people, believing that the altered event is really what happened.

Not only is photo manipulating bad for news events but for the media as well. Changing the way people look in magazines and videos make them seem perfect and beautiful, which changes the way Americans view beauty. What the public doesn’t know is that they will never find perfection like that in the real world. Not only will the image “heighten the standards” for beauty, but will cause distress to many women. They will wonder why they can’t look like that and it is possible their self esteem will drop and they will consider themselves ugly.

So that is why I have the strong belief that it should be banned. The only thing that comes out of photo altering and manipulation is lies and misconception. Congress would be doing our country the favor of a lifetime if a ban was passed and finalized on photo manipulation.

Yes I believe that it is bad to Photoshop because some of the photos do not need to be messed with and some of the people look good and then they make them look like something they can’t. But if the photo is to dark than they should be Photoshop and how the people would feel about it if they didn’t know about the photo. And some of my examples are some of the photo that is Photoshop some of them go a little to far with it. And how would you feel if someone Photoshop your photo what would you do about it would you ask them to take it down. I know if it was me I would be mad at the people that did it.

I believe that photo manipulation is ok some of the time. One reason for this that say there is a bad photo Photoshop could help make the picture look better. I also think that it should only be used for advertising and entertainment. It should be used for those because when its not used for these they are deceiving people. By deceiving I mean that they are showing people fake images of people and other things to everyone. This reason is a good and bad one for celebrities. The good part is that if some parts of the picture don’t turn out right you can go to Photoshop and change it. The bad part is that if it is actually a good that they could easily make a bad picture out of a good one. Another good reason is that you can make a picture of anything look. So say you have a photo a statue and it didn’t turn out good you could Photoshop it or if a picture is to dark you can brighten it up. All in All Photoshop is ok only sometimes.

I believe that photo shopping is uncalled for. Photo shopping hides people’s inner beauty whether you think they are beautiful or not. Photo shopping takes the trueness out of a picture. Photo manipulation has got to the point where you don’t know what is true or not. Rivals can get a hold of photo shop and make their candidate look like their unusual self. Citizen has lost their jobs over false pictures! Photo shopping has got to the point where, I have seen diseased people on newer magazines, and that is just rude and ignorant. I see it like this, if photo shoppers don’t like your inner beauty and how you were created from when you were born, they have major issues.

All in all, Photo shopping is rude, crude and hurtful. So, I think it’s up to us to ban it.

I believe photo shopping can be both bad and good. I think it can be bad because people have the ability to change photos to look worse than they actually are. For example make them look like they are overweight, dead or abused. With these options paparazzi and the tabloids are able to make up rumors about famous people and get good money for it.
Also it is used to remove things out of the picture that are important. I also believe that photo shopping is good. I think so because they can fix certain flaws in a photo. They can make a persons appearance look better. And they can also change where the background is. Overall I believe that photo shopping is ok only for certain reasons.

Some problems such as people feel that pictures should be left alone to capture the true meaning. Also fights in politics and entertainment. The only time photoshop should be used is for advertising products. But there should be a code telling the photo was manipulated. Also many people think some photos are real when they aren’t. Causing people the argue weather it is real or fake. Some feel that people are beautiful the way they are and shouldn’t be changed. Many companies are getting a lot of complaints about photo coping and could loose users of their products. Lastly, these are a few reasons why I think photo manipulation should be banned.

I believe that photo manipulation is not okay no none the time because you don’t know if the person you Photoshop might not be okay with it say for example the picture of President Obama when he was smoking he wasn’t really smoking it was another man smoking and the just took the cigarette from his mouth and attach it to President Obama mouth to make it look like he was smoking. That could of really effect President Obama if that picture would have been out when he was running for president. Also because you don’t know if it effect the citizens of America especially women because when they see pictures of models they want to look just like them and they want there waist line to be real skinny like there’s but that’s not really how that models waist line looks because the pick has been Photoshop and tell they find the self confidence to be happy with there self the would not want to look like models they would want to look like there self. The last reason why I think photo manipulation is not okay any of the time because it doesn’t show the real effect of the picture that was taken. Also people might say that they would never look at a photo the same AGAIN!!!!!

I believe that Congress should pass a law saying that photo manipulation is illegal. One reason why is because women never know if the picture is real or just a fake, because people go around thinking that’s what you should look like and its not real. And you start to ask your self all these question how come I’m not skinny like them? Or why can’t my skin look like that? Another reason is men think that’s real beauty and that we should starve are self’s to look like them. But people think that’s how they should look and they can end up really sick or dead. They are also sending the wrong message to kids, and to adults. An example is if a little girl sees her idol she’ll try to look like her and she’s not real. Even adults think that’s what beauty is and it never was before why would it now. These are the reasons why I think Photoshop should be banned.

I believe that congress should pass a law stating that photo manipulation is illegal. I believe that statement because when your photo is manipulated, the person in the picture is not really you. It is a fake you, its something that your not nor ever will be. My second reason is, is that it is basically sending a message to people about how they “should” look. It can make people upset, it can hurt a lot of feelings, and it can mentally force you to be something that you can’t ever be. It can really boost your self esteem. Some people have a high self esteem so when a person takes a picture and he/she thinks it’s the best they can do(without Photoshop) and then that particular person see’s that picture has Photoshop, they can start doing unhealthy things that can hurt you physically, mentally, or emotionally. Lastly I think that it makes the people that look at these pictures feel bad for them selves. There are girls and guys that look at these pictures that see this pretty person and want to be just like them. Little do some people know, they will never look like that. It’s a real person with a fake look. So yes, I do think congress should pass a law saying “no manipulation” to pictures because then everyone will know the truth about how people look and they wont have to second guess there selves thinking “hey, is that a real picture or a fake one?”. Its better that way because the way it is now, hurts way to many people.

I believe that Congress is actually doing the right things by taking away photo shopping. I don’t think that it is necessary that they have to make it a law that they should take photo shopping away. The reason why I think that Congress is doing the right thing is because celebrities get a lot of photo shopping done then when another person sees that they think that it really then, then that’s when they try to get a lot of surgery done and try to starve there selves, but then when they have health problems then they don’t end up looking like the celebrity that they saw they look like a whole different person. Another reason why I think congress is doing the right thing is because 1st off why would people want to change who they really are, why be something that you are not. For example the proactive commercial has people on there that say they used it and now they have beautiful skin, like really what I think is that hey have on make up and they are lying, then people are paying a lot of money for it and it is not working. Well all that I am saying is that photo shopping is not good and congress is actually doing the right thing. NO PHOTO SHOPPIN!!!!

I believe that Congress shouldn’t ban photo manipulation but, have rules and certain guidelines to follow. Photo manipulation is not bad but it doesn’t always tell the truth. There are many ways I think it’s bad. One way it’s bad is if it’s portraying a really exaggerated lie. For example, if it’s showing something that’s untruthful and it makes the subject look bad. Another ways it’s bad is if it’s something hurtful or controversial. If the image is either of those things, it shouldn’t be published but, not if it hurts a few people but majority of the audience. There is also many ways I think it’s good. One way it’s good is if it just a minor touch to make the picture look better. For example to making it brighter, darker, etc. That’s why I believe congress shouldn’t ban photo manipulation.

I believe that photo shopping/manipulation is wrong. One reason is because I feel that the way your face and body look should NOT be “judged” by the media, &/or the news reporters. It’s one thing when they want to rearrange the way that you look in a photo and not ask, but it’s another when they do ask it’s basically showing that they have respect for you and your feelings and maybe insecurities. Another is because I feel that beauty should come from inside and out no matter what/how you look like. Also I think that basically it’s like invasion of privacy when the media “captures or takes” someone else’s appearance or Identity and switches it with another. For ex. With governor Richards, when she was on a motor bike and was or had her picture taken and the media took that picture and they basically swapped her body with someone else that had a better body than she did or a better “style” that they thought that other people would like. And I feel that it is wrong to make pictures lighter or darker to make people look eviler or good in-a-way. For another ex. OJ Simpson was conflicted for 2 murders charges so the media got hold of his picture(invasion of privacy). And made him darker than what he really looked like. Just to make him “look” evil. All in all I feel that it is wrong to use photo shopping/manipulation for the wrong reasons.

I believe that photo manipulation should be banned only if the subject agrees to be photo shopped or they should have a symbol to let the viewer know that the mage has been manipulated. I believe that they should keep the basic human dignity by not going and putting your head on another person’s body and saying that this is how someone looks because they think it looks better and it is very insulting to the person and it is not ok to do unless the person says it is and knows what to expect. Even though the company might put in small font stating that the pictures have been photo shopped they aren’t really letting it be known that this image is fake. So if they are trying to sell something for your skin you know that the image of that person is not real and you can’t actually get your face to look like that person without photo manipulation. And the only times it might be acceptable is if it is for entertainment purposes only. Even at that time they still shouldn’t really manipulate the people. I personally believe that they should keep the morality of people and keep the realistic level of world instead of creating FAKE PEOPLE WHO THE WORLD THINKS IS REAL. They are images that don’t display the truth. Photo shopping also gives the company a band rap because viewers might think all the images are fake when they actually get a good picture of someone that actually is real so it ruins the photography. The company could also give the subject or the reader low self- esteem because they think that photo shop is the only way they will look slim or beautiful when they’re skin is lighter and they have longer necks. And if the company still wants to have it they should have in bold print in the back of the magazine stating that they used photo manipulation. If not that they should have it printed under every image that they photo shopped to let the reader know.

I believe that photo shopping in magazines and photos is wrong, because if you manipulate the picture the picture is no longer real. It’s what they want you to see but not what the picture really is. It’s not okay at all its like lien to people in a way. People who photo shop are creating a false sense. Their taking away all the imperfections and that’s why in this day and age everyone’s so caught up in being perfect like these pictures they see. Photo shop is the cause for all the destruction in the world today. It’s the reason people starve them selves and get bullied at school and why the word beautiful is so distorted now. People don’t know what “beautiful” really is but they judge others as if they do.

I believe photo manipulation should never be used for magazines, newspapers or anything else media wise. Photo manipulation is bad and should never be used because it’s not honest, people or things that get their picture taken should be left alone. When people see pictures in magazines or magazine/newspaper covers, how are they supposed to know if it’s the real thing? Of course they would question every picture because if they find out about the photo editing they would ask if it’s really true. The photo shop workers should ask if the people want their pictures edited first before doing it without permission because people can get really upset about things like that. In a movie that I watched with my class, someone took a picture of a woman bull fighting. While the bull was down on the ground she had her arms up in victory, but at the same time, someone else had their arm in the air and it was right behind her! It looked like the other persons arm was coming out of her head. Photo manipulators cropped it out and made it look normal, but the photographer who took the picture was highly upset. Another example was when Beyonce’ had her picture taken, and of course it was beautiful, but the photo editors just had to make it look the way they wanted it by making her legs look thinner, making her skin lighter and other things that they didn’t have to do at all. Photo manipulation is very wrong and I say it should be banned and never used again.

I believe that there should be a law against major photo alterations. But in that law miner alterations should protected because of useful purposes. Said miner alterations include tint, shadowing, color content, and removal of unsightly background appearances. But the following should be ban, warping of an image to change appearance. Overlaying images or major facial alteration. Of Corse this law will only effect advertisement or at all meant to be taken seriously. Also are dismayed from gaming or movie advertisement. Any alteration must be consulted with photographer before said alteration is made. I believe that major alterations are misconceiving and could be misinterpreted. Wile miner alterations are to improve the quality of the photo with the photographers consent.

I believe that photo manipulation is OK some of the time. If there is a disclaimer noticeable to the picture viewer I believe it is OK. I believe that because if you see a picture of Barrack Obama I a military uniform fighting in a war, and there is a disclaimer there. Then the viewers automatically know that the picture was photo shopped. Also I believe it is okay if it is for entertainment purposes only. For example, if there are a little kids party and they are all having fun. Then I don’t feel it would be bad if you added a Clown or Barney. But let’s say there was a soldier photo shopped to make it look like he was shooting an innocent civilian. And there was no disclaimer for the viewers to know it’s fake. In that case I feel you shouldn’t be able to photo shop pictures. If it was made to make someone or something look bad, then I feel that you shouldn’t be able to photo shop a picture.

I believe that photo manipulation is completely unreasonable. If a photograph can not get that one good picture that they want in the dozens of photos they take, then it is not worth the trouble of manipulation the photo. Say a photographer is taking photos of children for a charity. If the photographer is looking for that perfect photo and they do not get the photo then that should be it. They stop and/or try again later. They should not be given’ the extra help of photo manipulation to get the photo perfect. Also, if they’re issues with the photo editors of a popular magazine and they want to change the photo to make it look better in their eyes then the photographer does not need to sell/give them the photo. Ether they get the right photo or they do not get the photo at all. They must have their photographs tell the truth and only the truth. If they can not do they, then what media can we trust?

I believe that the congress should pass this law to ban all photo manipulation from magazines and newspapers. I have numerous reasons for my statement, but the basic top reason is how can you tell if what you’re viewing or reading about is true or false? It’s very ridiculous on the number of people who use photo shop. Some of the pictures that you see, you ca tell that there fake. You can tell the differences if the person changing it is bad at that. But they shouldn’t do it at all. You basically tell people a lie. Covers of them can say false accusations like, “hottest guy”. If the picture is not true, then he’s not the hottest guy. The person you see in the newspaper or magazine or whatever you are reading that the person you see isn’t really what they look like. You have to always wonder, “Is that real?” or “Did they change it?” It can just all be fake. Basically, photo shop is a lie and fake. You can’t tell if its real or not so I strongly suggest to continue with my statement and pass the law to ban all photo manipulation from magazines and newspaper.

I believe that photo manipulation is ok some of the time. As long as it doesn’t change the meaning or purpose of the picture it should be alright. For example if there is some kind of obstruction in the picture like a pole coming out of someone’s head or something like that should be able to be taken out. Or when they make a person look a little better for a magazine cover as long as it doesn’t change the meaning or purpose of the picture. Like if you take an entire person out of a picture or put an entire person in a picture it will completely change the meaning and that’s not alright. That’s my opinion on photo manipulation.

I believe that it is not ok for photo shopping a person who is in the photo is wrong.
The reason why I think it is wrong because it is basically deceiving the person who is in the person also who is viewing the picture. Because it changes the way they see beauty. Also how it affects the person in the picture it causes them to question the way they look and may need to get implants. Even if the picture is of a beach someone might see the picture and want to take a vacation there then when they get there and it not like the picture is they are going to be mad.

I believe that congress should ban photo shopping some of the time because, it changes how someone looks. When it looks like someone is doing something that they really don’t look like or what they are really not doing that thing. When it shows something that really never happen. When is a state that if someone looks better then what they normally looks like if they used this product? I do think that it should be aloud when the image are about art and not about news. They should only change the background or the color. When they change what a person looks like, doing, or there color. Then that is bad and you should be asmead with your self. Not when someone is showed a little bit of people like 100 hundred on 500 hundred and more. That’s why I think that it should be banned some of the time!

I believe that congress should pass the law of banning all photo manipulation for many reasons. Some of the reasons I believe they should ban all photo manipulation is because they don’t let you be yourself in the picture. They mostly change everything in the picture. Another reason is because when you look in a newspaper or an article your just wondering is that really true. I really think they should ban that because everything is practically fake. No one will be so skinny, or as pretty, lets just put it as no one is going to be as perfect. They should just not change a picture because you never know if the person will like it. I personally think that most of the pictures in a magazine or a newspaper has been photo shopped. I know no one will ever look like the “models” in a magazine. In conclusion, this is why I think photo manipulation is wrong.

I believe it is wrong to use photo manipulation. To me it is wrong because it could change the meaning of a picture. For example a picture can stand for something totally different then if someone were to change the picture. Also if someone’s photo was changed without their permission it could make them feel like they aren’t good enough. But it really depends on what is being photo shopped and who is doing it. But photo shop can be used for good reasons too. For example if it is being done for entertainment only it ok. As long as someone is not being made fun of its fine. And its okay if your just changing the lighting of a photo and not the subject in it. So as you can see there are good and bad things about photo shop. And this is why I think it is ok to use photo shop some of the time.

I believe that it is okay to use Photoshop some of the time. I say this because in some pictures, there are a lot of mistakes. Their could be a shadow on a persons face or a leaf blowing in front of your image. For example, it you have an article about bunny rabbits and your bunny is blurred; it is okay to crop out the picture and put in a new one. It’s okay for entertainment purposes only. Like for a television show or a video game. But its not okay for beauty supplies and politics. They could make the politicians look like he was doing something bad. Or for beauty products, that is the worst of all. I say this because it makes an image impossible to match. That makes girls try to look like that and it will never happen. thats why I say it’s sometimes okay to use Photoshop.

I believe that photography manipulation is not ok, because having in the photographer but all of its hard work into taking the picture then someone edit’s the picture. Even the person who taken the picture should be mad because there going to add someone that there not going to look like never. Also I think that it’s a bad idea because the whole world is going to see it and their going to know that’s really not they way you look. Another reason it’s a bad idea because you could look at the real image of the picture and compare the edit image and the normal picture which most people would want to look like there self not someone else.

I believe photo manipulation shouldn’t be allowed because it’s like sabotaging someone’s pictures and its mean, what if the person really liked their picture then when they see the done picture they’ll be all sad, and angry. Like how one lady got photo shopped and she sued the company I would do it too because it’s mean and RUDE, are they even asking for permission to do this to peoples pictures (I wonder)? If someone photo shopped me I would be sad, and angry. So no I do not believe photo shopping should be allowed.

I believe we shouldn’t use Photoshop all the time. We shouldn’t use Photoshop all the time because it destroys the human mind. It tells you, a lie. We should only use it when it is needed. You are telling people, that the size you are now, is not good enough to be on television or on a bulletin board. It is also not good that the person they Photoshopped, looks totally different in the person. Sometimes Photoshopping a picture without the person knowing can be embarrassing and manipulating. People are starting to think that the only way they can look good is by plastic surgery. Really, when you get that, it is still not going to look good as photoshop. Photoshopping is fake. The pictures that get photoshopped are fake. It is very sad to use photoshop. So that is my reason, in why photoshop can be manipulating, & why we shouldn’t use it all the time.

I believe using photo manipulation is ok none of the time. Photo manipulation can hurt people, like the subjects in the photos. It can make the subjects have low self-esteem by the way they look and who they are. Photo manipulation can also bring insecurities and less confidence in people. Photo manipulation should be banned from all magazines and newspapers. It revolves in nothing but embarrassment. Also when trying to sell a product and you use photo manipulation, you are tricking the customer into buying the product. For example, if you use photo shopping on a Proactiv commercial to make the actor/actresses skin clearer then you are manipulating the customer into buying the product. Most people all over the world look up to the people in magazines, wanting to be just like them. When the people in the magazines aren’t even what they seem to be. It sets a bad example to viewers, especially girls. That is why photo manipulation is not ok.

I believe that altering an image that accompanies a news story is ethically wrong. News reporters have been trusted and expected for a long time to tell the truth. The content of the text is ruined if an accurate picture is not presented. Altering an image can lead people to think something happened that never actually occurred. Take a picture of the war in Iraq. A man is coming towards a soldier with a sick or dying child in his arms and the soldier pointing a gun at him! Would it change your interpretation if you knew this was two separate images melded together in photoshop? This exemplifies why photoshop can be considered wrong. There are scenarios where I personally consider photoshop to be acceptable, a science-fiction movie, for example. In the sci-fi movie Avatar the digitally made landscapes float in the sky. The landmasses were not actually floating, which would be impossible with current technologies, but it adds to the overall affect of the movie. It is supposed to be unrealistic. News stories are supposed to be factual portrayals, not fictional fantasy. Therefore I believe that manipulating an image that accompanies a new article is unethical and should prohibited.

I believe that photo manipulation can only sometimes be used in magazines and newspapers. It should only be used when the content of the picture that is being manipulated doesn’t greatly affect the truthiness of the photo in any way. For example, if a photo of a forest were to be taken for educational purposes, it should be okay to change a few leaf colors or even add a few matching trees to fill in gaps. These manipulations only slightly change the reality of the forest in the eyes of the reader, but in a way that is unnoticeable and not important. However, it would be a bad manipulation to add animals to the photo or additional geological features. These manipulations would greatly reduce the validity of the photo. On the other hand, I believe that photo manipulation should be allowed under any circumstances for entertainment purposes. I say this because in entertainment, the truth does not really matter as its only purpose is to entertain, not inform. For example, if someone were to see a movie, it only elevates to entertainment value of that movie if some of the film was manipulated. Clearly photo manipulation not all bad in some circumstances and should not be completely banned from magazines and newspapers.

I believe photo shopping is wrong. I feel this way because, in a lot of way’s photo shopping is hurtful, wrong and not to mention deceiving. For example, in the modeling industries, everything has to be perfect. If you picture a little girl looking at a poster, or a billboard, can you imagine what they might be feeling? It can give young girls low- self esteem, and cause a lot of problems, with their height, weight, how they look, etc. Next, photo shopping is also wrong because, it can make the subject look as if their doing something wrong. Such as, the military picture. They made him look as if he was pushing the helpless man and child away. When in fact he was directing him to help. As a matter of fact, if you look at politics they do a little of photo shopping on them to. Take Al Fraken for instance, the senator of Minnesota. The photo shopping tool made it look like he lied, by crossing his fingers. Or take president Obama, when he was down to look at the oil spill, he was lowering down to hear what the women had to say. When came into magazine’s, they had his head turned to make it look like he wasn’t paying an attention. Another in politics would be, George W. Bush. He was with little kids reading, and they had his book upside down. There is a lot of photo manipulation to go through as you can see. Truly now, you can see how people like you and me are being suckered (manipulated) by photo shopping. Without even knowing the story behind it.

I believe that photo manipulation should only be used when there is a disclaimer. You should use a disclaimer to tell the viewer if this is what the picture originally looked like or if work was done on the photo. Although photo shop is helpful it is also sometimes hurtful to those that are in the photo. Some people that are in the photo might find it offensive if they find out that the picture isn’t how it originally looked. Photo shop can also crush kid’s dreams. Photo shop hurt kid’s dreams because they want to look and have to bodies of the models but they will never have them because those photos’ of models are digitally edited and cropped to look a certain way. At least with a disclaimer you would know if the photo is original or photo shopped.

There saying I want a girl friend that have’s the same appearance. Distorting people body’s just is dumb because when we look at the person they look totally different. And we may say I thought you where skinny with a flat stomach. There making people look like somebody that doesn’t even look like them self. I believe that photo manipulation is not okay, In fact it’s a bad idea because having an image and posting it for the whole world to see it, then changing how it actually was captured gives out the wrong message. By doing that people will not get the accurate information by looking at the picture, because your not showing what was really going on. I think that even if you change the slightest thing about the picture it’s not a good outcome. You can also have people upset and mad at the picture if its being photo shopped. It’s not right to have people go around seeing an image that isn’t really true and having them believe it is. As far as I’m concerned I still believe that there is no point to show a picture of something happening in life if it’s not going to be the real thing, either show the image for what it really is or don’t show the image at all. And that’s what I strongly believe on photo manipulation.

It’s not ok to photo shop people without there permission, because you could put inappropriate, and lies and then have bad roomer going around the U.S.A. When the person finds out their roomer they would get mad and be embarrassed. They would feel like killing their selves. It’s kind of like cyber bullying. I believe that Photo Manipulation is never right none of the time, I believe that because It is not right to change a person’s inner or otter beauty in the way they look. Such as the way they wear their hair, their eye color, factual complexition, eyebrows etc. I am convincing that something should be done about It, It should not continue to be done none of the time. Most likely for sure you should ask the person’s permission first to do it, but that can hurt the person’s inner mentality and personality inner and outer. That can affect them in lots of ways. One way you will make them feel like their not nothing, and that their not perfect, not really “PERFECT”, but you know not just fine the way they looked the first time. There would probably be a pity witty thing that just doesn’t give 100 percent of affection or natural beauty they pick out about them. Secondly It’s rude to do that, which might leave an affect on them. That can happen because you changed the way they looked totally. It isn’t right and that’s why Photo Manipulation is very wrong.

I believe that in all aspects, manipulating photos in magazines and newspapers is wrong. One reason I believe photoshopping is wrong is because it can negatively affect teens. If a magazine company published a perfect image of a celebrity like Beyonce for entertainment or news, young girls would be under the impression that they have to look as perfect as that image. Due to unreal photoshopped images advertized by the media, the percentages of eating disorders and suicides could increase. Girls would be wasting their time trying to look like the women in magazines because the reality is that NO ONE looks like that. Another reason I am against photoshopping is because it could cause a panic among the public. For example, if a newspaper or magazine did something outrageous, such as blending a picture of alien space ships flying and the earth with a title like “They’re Watching Us”, this could cause an outburst in society. Everyone could start freaking out because they think that aliens are planning to destroy us, or something similar to that. Finally, manipulating photos is wrong because it could change someone’s outlook on a subject. For example, in a picture where former president Bush is holding a children’s book and reading, people’s opinion on him could change if the media published the picture with the book upside down. Such an image makes Bush look clueless, and the public could have easily related this to how he ran the country. In conclusion, images should never be altered because of all the negative effects that follow it.

I believe photo manipulation should be allowed some of the time. Say there is a photo and it doesn’t come out right or look right and it’s too late to take another one. Then just change it because it would be much easier than waiting to take another one. I also believe it should be allowed for entertainment reasons as well if it is known as that than yes. However if it is passed on as the truth then no it shouldn’t be allowed. Another time it should not be allowed ever is if it is someone’s body. No matter what they change it shows they are not perfect or already good enough to be seen. Whether it is to make someone taller, shorter, skinnier, or fatter it shouldn’t be allowed. Even for entertainment reasons when the subject is unaware of it, it can hurt some ones feelings. If it is for a non profit reasons then it should be allowed. It should also not be to offensive to anyone or large amount of people.

I believe that photo manipulation should never be used without the person permission. The reason for that is because the people responsible may get sued for photo shopping the picture. Another reason is because the person might not like the way the picture looks after the photo has been changed. Also pictures for newspapers and magazines will be a lie and people wouldn’t know what to believe, like for example the newspaper has on the cover that a red haired woman has been trialed for murder and when people sees it on the news the woman is not red hair she actually has blond hair. People watching may think the whole thing is wrong. So all in all photo manipulation is always wrong without the person/people permission.

I believe using Photoshop I never okay unless it is used for entertainment, and they have to put that somewhere so you know. I also believe it is okay to use photoshoping when you want to take out something. For example an arm from someone in the background is coming out of a persons head because the person is in the way. But you must tell and put somewhere that the photo has been edited. I believe that using Photoshop for the reasons I listed is only okay because if you edit a picture of a person like changing now they look, making them look skinnier or making them just look better is wrong because if that picture goes out into magazines or so people may want to look like that when that person doesn’t even look like that. It sets a bad example for teenagers because it makes them feel less confident, wanting to look like that image when that person doesn’t even look like that. Also it may upset the person who got their photo taken because if they see the edited picture they will think that’s not the real me, it’s not the truth! In conclusion I do not think its okay to Photoshop pictures unless it’s for entertainment or if you need to take something out because it is ruining something else.

I believe that photo manipulation is okay only some of the time. Times that Photo shopping is okay is when the photographs are in a magazine or some sort of ad. I believe that Photoshop is okay for this kind of thing because businesses are trying to sell things and make money, which means if something looks better they could gain more money because more people would by it. A example of this is if a fashion line is trying to sell a piece of clothing buyers would pay more attention to the ad if the model was pretty, yet if the model was “ugly” or “fat” not many people would look at it and want to buy what they are offering. Some times photo shopping an image should be restricted though. Like on the news or in any informational piece of text. The reason for this is because people may misinterpret what they see, so they will get the wrong information ad it can educate them wrong.

I believe that photo shopping people is wrong. I mean you shouldn’t do it if they don’t want it to be done. Because when you do that, the person who is in the picture is going to look at it, and see it. That person is going to be very upset, because you doing other things to they picture that they don’t want to be done to. But then again im kind of in the middle and kind of think its wrong because when they do the Photoshop its makes the picture cuter but sometimes it just done need it. But all im saying is that you should get permission from the person who is in the picture to see if they want they picture to be photo shopped.

I believe that it is not good to Photoshop. A reason is it could give viewers or readers the wrong idea about the person. They would start to think that there is something wrong with that person. People would start to think that they don’t look like the person in the picture. Photoshop could make the person who is in the picture look bad in the article or photo. People could get the wrong info about that person and they could probably get hurt somehow. I think we need to put an end to Photoshop because it gives false info. The person who took the photo would feel upset by the changes they made to their photo. I mean why do we need to Photoshop pictures they are just fine. That is what I think about Photoshop.

I believe photo manipulation is okay sometimes. I think this because maybe there is something weird in your picture or there are people in the back ground that you don’t want. You can take it out. Photo manipulation crosses the line when people are trying to make people look thinner. If you try to change the way some one looks and not make it obvious that they are not the same person then it’s wrong. When you photo shop like that your telling people lies about how people really look. It is physically impossible for someone to look like that. I think it’s also ok to crop off someone’s head to another body to make a point about some thing.

I believe …..
That Photo Manipulation is not good for magazines because the magazine editors might photo shop a picture and make the picture untrue or make it what it’s not suppose to be. People who read it might believe the media and what they say or fix on the the front cover of the magazine. The media might try to make things look better but the person who looks at it might think it looks bad. Another reason I think the media should not use Photo Manipulation on certain things such as pictures is that it shows that it is not the real picture. They can crop people’s body parts on to other people bodies to make them look better.

I believe that this is because no matter what they are doing to it its just the fact that they are changing it. when u change the picture of a person you make them think that they are to ugly for the picture.

I believe that manipulating a photo is wrong, and should not be done at all, unless the photographer or subject wants it to be done. I say that photo manipulating is wrong because the picture was taken from the view of the photographer and to them the picture was perfect. So if the photographer thought the photo was fine, you have no right to manipulate the picture to look perfect to you or anyone else. For example if you took a picture of a flower in sunlight, and you thought that it looked beautiful, you would not want another person to come and change the amount of light on the flower, or anything else.
I also believe that photo manipulation is wrong because it may change the truth in the picture. A photo shows something that is true, and then photo manipulation changes that. For example a magazine showed Nancy Kerrigan and Tanya Harding supposedly skating together the day before a competition. Nancy and Tanya never skated together, that was just the use of photo manipulation, telling you that something was true even though it was not.

I believe that photo manipulation is sometimes acceptable. For example I think that photo shopping is okay when you want someone or something to look pretty and it didn’t turn out right that’s ok. But when you are taking pictures of the presidents or mayors etc. and they look a certain way and you can change it that’s not ok. Also I think it’s ok if you ask the person if you could photoshop their picture and they say yeah then it’s acceptable. But if ask a person and they say no and you photohop their picture anyways then that’s not acceptable. Sometimes when you photoshop a picture it takes the content of the picture out of the picture. But sometimes it brings the content into the picture which is a good thing. Also sometimes girls and guys wish to be the people in the magazines but the people in the magazines don’t even look like that. Some people don’t really care if the photo is fake or not they think it doesn’t matter. So that’s why I believe that it is sometimes ok photo manipulating a photo.

I believe that photo manipulation is wrong all the time because people don’t want to see a false picture or ad. No one likes being lied to, no matter what it’s about. Even if there’s a blemish or a hair out of place it’s not okay to change a picture, a lot or a little. In magazines, billboards or newspaper, they could lie and say that their product made that person look like that, but really it was just Photoshop (photo manipulation), not the product their advertising. Also with Photoshop, they make people look slimmer or prettier and when little girls look at those pictures they think “Wow, I wish I looked like that” instead of loving their selves the way they are and so they might try to do stuff to try to look like that. Photoshop isn’t the best thing out there to use for pictures.

I believe that photo shopping is good and bad. If it’s good then the photo can be put on the magazine and publish the photo. When it’s good more people will buy the magazine.
It’s because of the way the person that took the photograph. If you change a women’s face, people can tell if something is fake or real. When it’s good then people will buy it more. It’s interesting when people like to see the real thing instead of fake. Someone can
mess up and don’t make the right skin tone or the face or the hair.

I believe that photoshop is a good thing and I’m on their side because sometimes you cant capture a subjects essence in a photo. The cover of the magazine not somebody who should be looked up to, especially if they’re in magazine, because the real beauty is in you! People shouldn’t believe what’s on the photo anyway but photographers should also tell people when a picture is photoshopped. For instance up-coming girls who are into the magazines they see and create insecurities, that’s when and where the real damage starts when it’s effecting the society and the world around us.

I believe that we should stop manipulating photos. The way that these publishers make these girls on magazines look makes everyone seem un-real. Girls/woman have low self-esteem because they want to look just like those “fake” girls. Nobody is and NEVER will be that perfect. People should be noticed for their true beauty, and NOT for what they are made to be. No one should be presented as a “perfect person” or look like something they are not. I don’t agree with photoshop because it is wrong. When they photoshop for make-up or hair products its makes people believe that it really works that well. Really its just the manipulation that has been done to that photo to make it look that good. I don’t approve of photoshop and these are my reasoning’s why.

I believe that photo manipulation is a good and bad thing. The reason I think it’s good is because sometimes when a person is older or have bad skin they like to change it and have it to look like the picture shows the true them even though they know it’s a lie. Other times if someone changed the way someone else looked in the picture they would be mad because it’s not the real them it’s someone that was created off their image. Example: if someone was to take a picture of me personally I would be mad because that’s not me an they didn’t ask for my permission an it was just be a lie. Then again if I notice I have like acne or something bad or a scar on me or I looked super huge I would ask for them to make some a few adjusts though it would still not be the real me it would be half the truth with some minor cutbacks. If you were to change a picture without a person’s permission then that person could sue you and you could lose a lot of money because you tried to make up stuff and change the way someone looked so possibly at times it could be illegal. It’s considered a made up person when you take a picture then make a lot of changes because the original picture would be a realistic picture made into a picture that has nothing to do with them like the eyes or complexion or if their weight was changed so if you were to see the person in reality they would look completely different then the lie in the frame. So that’s why I believe photo manipulation is a good and bad thing.

I believe that photo shopping is not right. In less he/she says it’s ok. Also you should not car what people think about your body. You are the one to judge that. Another reason it’s not ok is because pedophiles take those pictures. And then make them worse. But also photo shopping can be good. Also for only like movies, cartoons, and all sorts of different things. Also they should ask for other peoples opinion. And that’s what I think about photo shopping.

I believe that photo manipulation or “photoshopping” should only be used foe entertainment. When pictures of friends or family are edited there harmless. It’s different when pictures of federal officers or the president’s picture has been photoshopped to make inappropriate or negative statements. Of course it all depends on who has the photo and if who ever on the photo wants it to be shopped. For these reasons I don’t have a sure answer about allowing or prohibiting photo manipulation. I feel that it should be supervised and that only some pictures should be edited, and if the picture is of someone else then it is up to them what they do with it.

I believe its wrong to Photoshop/ manipulation pictures not just for magazines but for anything. It’s wrong because the picture isn’t the truth its not real. Things have been changed. Another reason why photo manipulation is wrong is because in pictures the company of a product will say their product did that to the person but it was actually just Photoshop. Even if a little thing is wrong like part of the subject is messed up doesn’t mean you can just change the problem without asking. It’s wrong to change pictures with Photoshop because it disrespects whoever was in the picture. If you know you’re going to change the person for things what was the point of having them take the picture? Another reason why Photo Manipulation is wrong is because you’re lying to the customer to trick them into paying for a product that won’t do that. The only time Photoshop is fine would be is if you’re just changing the brightness on the picture. Another reason why Photoshop is wrong is because people will be wasting their money for something that doesn’t work. These are my reasons why Photo manipulation is wrong.

I believe that photo shopping is bad. I believe it is bad because some people like for other people to see what they look like not what they don’t look like. Photoshop could be ok if you want to be photo shopped but if you don’t it’s not alright. Me personally I would want people to see how I look not how photo shopping makes me look like. People should stop doing photo shopping without asking the person. I think it is stupid to use it for entertainment because if people like the show they shouldn’t judge them but there appearance but by rather they like the show or not. To some people photo shopping is a brilliant idea, but to me it is stupid unless you like for people to see what you don’t look like. Some people could get you in trouble for photo shopping other people and putting it on the internet. Some people like the way they look, but others don’t so thy do photo shopping. Now those are some reasons and examples why I think photo shopping is bad.

I believe that some of the time it’s okay to use photo manipulation as long as it’s for a good cause. Like, if it’s to stop gang violence or, to stop smoking, and drinking and driving, then I may be a good thing. Photoshopping should only be used for positive things and not for people to look perfect. Photo manipulation should only trick people from doing bad things, like this would happen if you smoke or you can kill someone drinking and driving. There should be more consideration of using photo manipulation from a positive stand point. Photo manipulation is also good for having people be aware of what’s going on in the world. Like if there is a new drug out with side effects, there can be pictures of what it can cause. It’s just good for people who are curious what can happen to you if you use a certain product. Well, I think that photo manipulation can be used in a positive way. So, congress does not need to pass a law banning photo manipulation.

You Should only do it when you are trying to make someone look better and if you are telling about something that is true. I believe that it is wrong to Photoshop because it puts false information out to the people looking at the picture. For example if I look at a picture of a male model (on the cover of polo)(no homo) and you photo shopped there lips to be fatter (no homo) I am going to think fuller lips are needed to look good and im going to hate myself because I don’t full lips and that’s not the case. Women have starved themselves to look like the models yaw have creates and its ridiculous that people have to live in fear of the way they look

I believe that photo manipulation is ok when the person says you can but if they say no, you can’t. If the take a picture of someone and you’re going to put it in the newspaper and you want to manipulate it you should ask the person if you can first, if they say yes your can. If they say no, you can’t. If you ask someone and the say no but you do it anyways you should be able to sew the person that did it. Also if the person publishes it you should be able to take it to court. So what I’m saying is it should be a law that you have to ask the person you took the picture of if you can manipulate it before you do it. If they do it without asking they should be fined money for doing it.

I believe that photo manipulation should be use for entertainment but no for newspaper articles. When people look at entertainment articles, its common sense that things can’t stick to of a person head or the sun and moon are at the same place in the North Pole. When it comes to newspapers, people become dumbfounded. People believe and trust the news and the people, who give it to us. They are also directing the young kids to trying to look at something that is impossible. My opinion is that photo manipulation is only able for entertainment, but not for news, educational, and young people articles.

I believe that “photoshopping” should only be used for entertainment purposes only. I think that news articles should be all truth. Manipulating a picture would make the article change and be false. If anything, I think the editor of the picture should put a disclaimer telling the audience that the picture was altered and changed. In news articles, if the picture was altered people would not know if the information given was true or not. Entertainment on the other hand, PURPOSELY alters and changes a photo. The editor should also give a disclaimer for these kinds of photos too. News articles or just articles are aimed to be truth. For example, a story like a murder should not have manipulated pictures. No alterations. Entertainment is fiction or exaggeration. “Photoshopping” would be okay to do. Now, entertainment news is still news. So a story about a celebrity or a funny TRUE story that have pictures should not be changed. It’s still news. To conclude, I believe “photoshopping” pictures is okay for entertainment with disclaimers and it’s NOT okay for news articles.

I believe that photo manipulation should only be used for entertainment purposes. Photo shopping should never be used for government use or to inform people of something. I believe this for many reasons. One reason why I believe photo manipulation should never be used to inform people is because, if every image is photo shopped how will today’s society know what’s really going on in our country. I also believe this is wrong because, the people will question every image we see. I believe that photo manipulation should only be used for entertainment because; to some people photo shopping is an art. I also believe this because, when it is used for entertainment, it serves an actually purpose and that is to please people. Finally I believe this because; when it is used for entertainment it does not hurt anyone. I believe that photo manipulation is alright some of the time but not all. Photo manipulation should take cause for entertainment purposes only. No newspaper services or anything of that sort should manipulate photographs. A few reasons that photo manipulation should not take place is because those photos can be misleading and can be taken the wrong way, they also can make things unoriginal, unnatural and or untrue. Photo manipulation can even make things hard to believe and can make viewers questionable. Another reason why photo manipulation should not take place for impersonal entertainment purposes is because it can trick and mislead young ones, older ones (and anyone in between) that they have to look a certain way to look nice and or to look pretty. As a result those manipulated photos can lower ones self esteem and how they look at or feel about themselves.

I believe that using photo manipulation is wrong. You when you look at something or your talking with someone you expect the truth. It’s the same thing with looking at a photo you can take a really important photo and manipulate it were it’s a lie and now you have a big problem with someone. Or if you take a photo of somebody and you manipulate it so it looks different and they don’t like it now you have a big lawsuit on your hands. Some examples I could think of would be if you took a photo of someone signing a peace treaty and they were smiling and being nice about it. Now if you manipulate the photo of him looking mad and mean and nasty about it your judgment on him is going to be a lot different then the true photo. Another example is in a company and you made a successful idea and three people helped out and you only took a picture of one guy you have a bigger lawsuit on your hands. As you can get a picture of what manipulated photos can lead to you can see how dangerous they can be. You shouldn’t judge the person in the photo just they person taking it. This is my opinion on why I think photo shop is wrong.

I believe that sometimes photo manipulation is ok, but only if someone wants you to edit it. For example if someone was taking a picture so it could be in the news paper it should be real. Since a lot of people look in the newspaper to find accurate information. Also I think if you have some type of sign to say that it is edit would be better. Most people can’t really tell if a picture has been edit or not. In addition it’s wrong because your making people look like someone they can never be. Also that puts a bad influence on kids because they will see that picture. And will try to look like them. Then again it’s good to edit a picture because it makes some pictures look better. Also if you didn’t like something in the picture you can remove it with an editing tool. Finally if the picture was too dark or to light you can brighten it up or make it darker. All in all sometimes photo manipulation is ok because it can make a picture look better. Then it’s bad because picture is not original anymore.

I believe it’s is ok sometimes to Photoshop. Here’s a good example: what if someone wakes up and has bags under their eyes for a picture. They say they look ugly in the morning and they hate the picture because of the bags. So the photographer goes online and makes the bags disappear and the person who took it loves it and is shock. An example of bad is when you photo shop is, lets say the photographer makes you look skinny for a commercial for loss wait. People who want to lose wait want to look like that. They get on a diet and gets sick for trying to eat things they don’t like trying to look like something fake. In addition, its sometimes ok to photo shop, it the person who took it say so.

I believe that the manipulative electronic reconstruction of any photo is wrong for many reasons. Say you take a picture of a person for a self portrait, and than you change their entire appearance, well than its not really that person is it. Than say you take a picture of an event than you change it makes the viewer wonder if that event ever truthfully happened. Also photo manipulation can be insulting to the photographer, because if you pay someone to take a photo and than you electronically modify it you might as well just insult his/her profession all together.

I believe that photos should only be manipulated when the photo doesn’t correctly display the information it was intended to. When a photographer takes a picture of someone for example someone talking to a crowd of people and a part of that person is covered up from something else, the picture will be less impactful to an audience than if the person stood out. Another example is if a photographer took a picture of someone helping another person, but the picture makes it appear that the people are yelling at each other, the picture will send the wrong message to the audience and thus making the topic seem incorrect and unimportant. Photos should not be manipulated for entertainment. It is wrong to change photos to make someone or something more pleasing to the eye; it gives the viewer the impression that people should look like the manipulated photo, which is impossible. Photo manipulation hurts the reputation and credibility of photos, and photography in general. Photo manipulation should be used only when necessary and not on every picture taken and published. I think a disclaimer should be placed on photoshopped images, as it is nearly impossible for the average person to detect photo manipulation. I believe that my opinion and reasoning on photo manipulation is best for the publishers and consumers consider my points in your decision.

If the picture is not as good as people want it to be, then they can photo shop and make a few changes to make it look like they want it to. But the thing that’s wrong about it that has nothing wrong! I could see it the picture was all blurry or dark you could make it lighter or un-blurry. Also how they change the persons size, facial features is bad except if your getting rid of there acne. Like they did to all the models who where hot as it was and they made them even skinnier and all the other things the people who sit behind the desk and mess with pictures do. I believe photo manipulation is wrong for photographers to use in magazines and newspapers. I personally think its wrong, because pictures don’t need change. There beautiful as they are. If you change a photo, you’re destroying the emotion and details of the picture. When people take pictures, it’s supposed to stay the same. Would you like if your picture was photo shopped? I know I wouldn’t, it’s a waste of time to change an amazing picture when it was amazing in the first place. Some people don’t like photo shopping…and some people do. But, did you know if you photo shop a picture of someone, it can cause someone to have low self-esteem. The person would probably think their not pretty enough or maybe they were too fat. It could really hurt someone, and we need to put a stop to this now! People need to realize photo shopping is completely wrong. It’s not ok to use photo shopping all the time or some of the time. You shouldn’t use it at all. If you don’t like the picture, then don’t use it!

I believe that photo manipulation is okay sometimes. I don’t think that it is okay to use Photoshop on news articles unless you are just brightening the picture or doing a little cropping. And if you do you should say what you did to the picture. I do believe that you should use Photoshop for entertainment because its suppose to be interesting. But all major changes that could affect how people are looked at by the reader should be listed. I also think that that if you make it a law to list the changes people would be loss likely to make as many changes. If photo manipulation was against the law everything would be boring. For example a new sci-fi movie is coming out and they want the cover to be Earth having 3 moons. Or a magazine caver the title is loosing his mind and they want little puzzle pieces to come out of his head they cant do that. Photo shopping is a form of art, it is hard work and it takes practice. It’s no different than me going to an open field drawing it then deciding that I want a tree in the middle.

I believe that photo manipulation is a negative on are society. I believe this because people don’t know the truth, If there was a woman who got photo shopped to look better then other women would try to look like them, the same thing for a man. Also it could make food seem so irresistible or make food look like it will taste good, but when you buy and eat it, it is horrible. And if there is a product like proactive for skin the commercial show’s lots of people with clean skin and people who say it work’s when reality is that it doesn’t work for every one…and half of the people on those commercials were probably photo shopped to look the way that they are needed to look for that commercial. Also when a product for hair or beauty is being sold people buy that product to look a cretin way. People starve and hurt themselves look a cretin way when reality is that no one looks’s that way. Photos are photo shopped to make people feel ugly, unwanted unless they buy that product. Also photo shopping portrays a (n) image of perfection even on houses people think that their lawn or house is not perfect unless they but a product to make it perfect. My opinion on photo shopping is negative because it makes us believe that people, the world is perfect when nothing is and nothing can be. Be carful of what you think is real and what rally is real.

I believe that that changing a picture is always wrong. It is wrong because it changes what people think is going on in the world. If you change a women’s face it could make men want that and women want to be that. If they change a war picture it could make you lean toward or away from the war. It could make the soldiers look bad.
It could make the person in the picture look bad because the people don’t like them. It could make the person in the picture uncomfortable because they changed there picture because they don’t think they look good. It can make the photographer mad because they changed there stuff. They can do a lot of bad things to a picture. This is why I believe it is wrong to change a picture.

No I do not think it is right for people to Photoshop. I think photo shopping is wrong. The reason I think it is wrong because young girls look up to people on photos and magazines. The boys do to but the don’t as much as girls. It also wrong to Photoshop because what if somebody is doing online dating and they photo shopped their picture. If they photo shopped them the other person would be disappointed. People think the pictures in a magazine are perfect images. Everybody in the magazine does not look like that at home. They usually put make up on and stuff before their pictures too. All in all I Think photo shopping is wrong because it misleads people.

I believe Photoshop is sometimes okay to use for 3 reasons. First of All I believe Photoshop is okay to use because teachers use Photoshop for learning purposes. For Example we had an assignment practicing Photoshop by changing the contrast of the picture and moving it around but we used this for educational reasons. Secondly I believe Photoshop is okay because they use these pictures for excitement. A congresswoman’s head was placed on top of a models body that was on a motorcycle but this was for excitement and didn’t hurt anyone. Lastly Photoshop is okay because people might change the proportions of a background. For Example the Mercator map makes the continents look bigger than they are like North America but this really doesn’t change our view of the world. All in All I believe that Photoshop is okay if used for significant reasons.

Reasons why it’s sometimes bad to use Photoshop. One reason why it’s not okay to use Photoshop is because it could show something bad that really didn’t happen. For Instance the press created a picture of Obama smoking a cigarette after the election when in actuality he hadn’t smoke a cigarette after the election. Also Photoshop could show images of people that aren’t real like the two pictures of beyonce chopping peppers. The original picture had in fact showed beyonce’s stomach and legs being a little big, but in the phtoshopped copy it showed her stomach being completely flat and her legs being completely skinny. This is bad because girls take medicine to look like that when beyonce doesn’t even look like that. As a result Photoshop could be good but it could be exciting or entertaining but the e same time it could be showing something fake.

I think Photoshopping is good in a way because if you didn’t look good or had acne it can fix it and make you look better. But its bad because it adds stuff that you don’t need and some people don’t like there picture photo shopped because they looked good . but I think people should ask before they photo shop your picture.
