I think that photoshopping an image is ok some of the time. For example, it is ok to make a picture clearer or better but it doesn't change the events in the photo. It is not ok to photoshop an image when it changes how someone would interpret the image. An example of this would be to show Squidword with hair- he doesn't have hair! That is a lie. On the other hand, I do not think it is ok to change images in advertisements because it isn't fair. For example, if you use photoshop to make a Crabby Patty look extra delicious but then you buy a real Crabby Patty you will be disappointed. That is false advertising. In conclusion, photoshopping can be good if used with judgement and wisdom.
Is photoshopping ok? I think it can be ok if you use it in the right way. If you want to publish somthing but you have a huge zit on your face I think it would be ok to smooth that out. Photoshopping can be used wrong if you want to change all of the persons unique ways. like if they think you way too much in a picture they change how skinny you are or your hair color. I don't think photoshopping is a good idea because they are using a computer to take all your natural beauty out to make something fake. I mean seriously no one is ever going to look like that. Photoshop is a way to make teenage girls feel ashamed of theirselves. Like in the one commercial the little girl was looking at the poster she was probably thinking why couldn't she look like that. When people use photoshops the models are probably thinking "gosh am i really that ugly for them to change everything on me?" nothing on photoshop is real.

I think photoshopping is ok only some of the time. It can be ok when you are trying to make something look better and clearer, but it's bad when you totally change a picture into something fake. For example, if you took a picture and you have a glare in your glasses or the light is too dim, you can use photoshopping to make your picture look better. It can be bad when you take a picture and someone uses photoshopping to make your skin clearer, your hair better, your body skinnier, your eyes whiter or anything else that isn't the real you. When people see that photoshopped picture of you, they try to make themselves look like that, but it's not possible. Also, photoshopping a picture of someone without their permission leads to even more trouble.

Young people will try to be like the celebrities and go on diets and starve themselves. But it could be a good thing because you can make the people or products look good. In my opinion I think that photo shopping is okay if you do it for media purposes if the person your photoshopping knows that you plan to Photoshop there picture. Other wise I think its wrong because you’re altering somebody’s appearances without them knowing and they could take that offensively. But if it’s for your own personal use and you’re altering your on picture then I guess its okay as long as you’re not misleading anybody then its wrong. Also if you use photoshopping to make and object look bigger or smaller I think that’s okay to. So that’s my opinion and I’m going to stick to it whether somebody likes it or not.

I think photoshopping is bad because they use it for the wrong reasons. For example when they use it for magazines, I remember when you told us how they did it to Faith Hill, and she sued them because they made slight changes. For example say your working at a popular fast food restaurant and you want to bring in more customers, so when you advertise the product you may do a little photoshopping to make it look alot better than it is. I think that for entertainment photoshopping can be good but just to do it for false advertisement it is not. If a girl doesn’t fell good about herself she might fell even worse because she sees all these girls who look pretty and she wants to do crazy things to herself because she wants to look like them. I think photoshopping is only ok for entertainment perposes. Some times you might need to make the Shading photo easier for the eyes. Another situation is if someone had an ugly scar and they dont want it to be seen. Also, I think it should be used in some entertainment because they use to sell the products like “Dove” billboard understand I understand that. For example, some people might not always approve photoshopping because when there might be a meaning in the photo, photoshopping changes the background or the face of the subject to make it different than what it already is. I think that it is okay to photoshop if you are fixing an image or making it more clear. When you change the image completely or change the back round it can change the way someone looks at the picture. For example the picture we looked at of the women that looked like she had the fence pole sticking out of her head, they photoshopped that out and it didn’t change the image, just made it look better. If you are photoshopping someone to make them appear different for advertisement and making money then it is not okay. I think photo shopping is only okay some of the time, depending on the situation. If it is going to be a public thing, don’t photo shop, same if it is meant to hurt someone. If you are doing it as a prank, or something of that nature, it is still wrong. When you are photo shopping a drawing that YOU did, or with a person’s consent to do it for fun, then I think it is okay to photo shop. In the previous situations where it was wrong to photo shop, I think it would be better to just try and take a more flattering picture, so you don’t have to photo shop.

I think Photoshop is good and bad. I think it’s good because if a picture is blurry you can fix it. If a picture is to dark you can lighten it. I think that Photoshopping is okay to use some of the time. If the picture is altered to make somebody look more appealing, or make something look better that what it is, than that is not a good. For example, when somebody looks too chunky and they change it so they look extremely skinny, than that is wrong. It is not true and they are telling their audience that is the truth. When the picture is changed only a little so it looks better and clearer, than that is not wrong. For example, if the picture has somebody standing in the way of something, or there is something distracting in the background it is not incorrect to change it so you can see the main focus and nothing is distracting. Also, when the picture is blurry, it is okay to change it so it is more clear and easier to understand. This is why I think Photoshopping is good and bad. :)

I think that photoshopping a photo is not a bad thing. If you Photoshop a photo for an important uses then it is a bad thing. I think photoshopping okay but half of the time it's just wrong. Because alot of people don't want to look fake. And the people who taking the picture is just make. The people think thier not pretty or good looking enough. If the compture making them look like somebody thier not.

I would think that photo manipulation can be okay under certain circumstances, like if you wanted to make a funny picture taking two different pictures and combining them. Not if it's destination is to inform people. Another example is if you want to get rid of a random creeper in your photo, then it would be okay. But if you’re using it to persuade others about a bad or untrue thing, it would be a lie. Say in the current Presidential Campaign, you find a rumor about Neut Gingrich lying and a picture with a long nose and a caption that said "Can you really trust him to run a country", then it would not be okay because one, its a rumor and two, the photo is manipulating you to believe the rumor. Or if you have an add of a person and make them impossibly beautiful, it's not okay because teens could become depressed of not being as beautiful and feel that they have to buy an expensive product that does not work. So sometimes, depending if you are making a uninformative or informative picture, photo manipulation can sometimes be okay.

I think if the photographer who took the picture agrees with the photoshopping of the picture then it would be ok. The picture should still show the whole truth. It is ok to change or edit little simple things such as the color, contrast, or to make the picture brighter. If you were going to put someone’s head on someone else’s body than you should ask them about it to see how they feel about the situation. Making a picture more dramatic than it is to get sales so far as a magazine goes I think that’s just fine.

I think that the only reason you should be able to photo shop a picture… Is for you to be supporting the person. But you should always ask the person if they want you to edit the picture. I believe that photoshopping is good and bad it all depends on what it is used for and if the person allows having their photo changed. It is ok when the photo is changed but to a point and that they don’t completely change the appearances of the person like making them look like a doll. It’s bad because they can do and change whatever they want to a photo. Photos should only be changed, like to take steam out of a photo of a bowl of soup, or to change something that make the picture look more professional, like if a fence pole looks like it is stuck in a person’s arm that would be a good reason to change a photo. Changing a photo for a new product that has just came out like a pill for weight loss and they take one photo and then changing it is bad because that means it does not work. Photoshopping is bad but also good it all depends on what it is used for I think the program that is used for to change a photo should be limited so people cant change whatever they want.
